Colonial Senior Players |
The Colonial Senior Players troupe was founded in 2022. The only requirement is to be a senior aged 55 or older, and all experience levels are welcome. Barbara Helen Baker, who was then leading the youth troupe, founded the group with the help of executive director Kathi Wall. The mission of the Colonial Senior Players is to give a creative outlet to senior who may have limited opportunities for roles in other productions. Depending on the actors participating each season, accommodations are made to ensure access and allow participation by all who wish to join.

Barbara Helen Baker
Barbara Helen is a member of SAG and Actors Equity Association. She taught and acted for over 40 years in Maine, Michigan, and Texas. She lives in Augusta with her partner, William McGuire.

Scott Jones
Scott grew up in Augusta and attended the Colonial Theater as a child, back when it was a movie theater. He has performed with theatre companies throughout central and southern Maine, including Maine State Music Theatre. He has appeared at Waterville Opera House as Santa in Elf, as Max Detweiler in The Sound of Music. He lives in Waterville with his wife Kathy.

Kathy Jones
Kathy lives in Waterville with her husband Scott. She got her start helping with sound at Cafe Murder, then decided to join the troupe as an actor.

Jim Lefurgy
Jim is an enthusiastic amateur actor who has appeared in two Theater at Monmouth productions, As You Like It and Pericles, Prince of Tyre. He has also appeared in numerous community theater productions. He is a semi-retired antique dealer living in East Winthrop with his partner Judy.

Mike Rowe
Mike has performed with several Maine community theaters. including the Gaslight Theater, since 2006. He was an extra in the Treat Williams film The Congressman. He was also a principle character in an Amazon Prime movie.

Judy Waner
Judy was born and raised in California. A 10 year study of music structure and theory under Brad Ormsby led to creating musical arrangements for professional singers. She worked in Hollywood, then moved to New York in the 70s to raise her family and began a new career in antiques. She lives in East Winthrop with her partner, Jim Jefurgy.

Muffy Witham
Muffy previously performed in community theatre, including Showboat, and as Morgan le Fay in Camelot. She also assisted in the production of Annie Get Your Gun. Muffy lives in Augusta with her husband George.

Past/Honorary Members:
Elaine has been choreographer, director and part of the production staff with Merrymeeting Community Players, Mid Coast Youth Theater, Studio 48 & St. John's School from 1996-2010. She choreographed Edwin Drood, Guys & Dolls, and Once on this Island at Brunswick High School between 2010-2012. She was drama coach for Carrie Ricker School from 2009-2016. She was with the Colonial Senior Players from 2022 - 2024, when she moved south.

Lenann grew up in East Haven, CT, and moved to Maine in the 1970. When she went to see My Fair Lady in its pre-Broadway debut at the Shubert Theater, she caught the theater bug and it never waned. She had a career in TV/radio, then social work and was part of community theater groups in ME and CT. She is now retired and teaches Tai Chi at her son's karate studio in Augusta. Lenann was part of Silver in Three Acts and House of Tomorrow with the Colonial Senior Players.

JR performed in Silver in Three Acts with the Colonial Senior Players. He enjoys scuba diving and hails from El Paso, Texas.

As former executive director of Augusta Colonial Theater, Kathi was instrumental in founding the Colonial Senior Players and assisted in the early productions.
